Chabad of Markham Hebrew School is teaming up with CKids for a Virtual Online Hebrew School during this Covid-19 crisis.

Each Sunday at 10:00 am, your child will participate online.  The topic of this weeks lesson is:  The Seder Night: Our Journey from Slavery to Freedom

The Virtual Hebrew School will be divided into 3 divisions: K-2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-7.  (For Chabad of Markahm's school the Grade 5 can join the Grade 6 to 7 age group)  Please make sure to click on the division that your child is in. You will also find a link with questions for your child to fill out after the lesson. Each week the CKids Network will be making a raffle and announcing the winners!

This week there will be an Arts & Crafts component.  Below, is a list of supplies needed for each grade. If you don't have these supplies on hand, please don't worry - you can still enjoy watching the session and use alternative items found around the house. 

JK to Grade 2 

  • Pen & Paper for game show 
  • Craft- Seder Plate Napkin Decoupage
  • Glass or plastic large plate/ cup/ bowl.                  
  • Decorative napkin or tissue paper.    
  • Glue or Mod Podge.      
  • Paint brush.                              
  • Ke’ara print outs (Attached online)             
  • Scissor

  Grades 3 to 5 (Gr. 5 can join the next group instead)

  • Pen & Paper for class and game show
  • Craft: Seder Table Pop Up Card  
  • 1 white cardstock paper.           
  • 1 white regular paper.               
  • Scissor.                                            
  • Markers/crayons.             
  • Glue or tape
  • Artwork for print (Attached online)

Grades 6 to 7 

  • Knife
  • Bowl
  • Apple
  • Chopped nuts
  • Grape Juice
  • Cinnamon
  • Optional: Pear & Dates
  • Pen & Paper for game show 
  • Craft: Origami Freedom Finger trap.                   
  • 2 colors of paper.               
  • Ruler.                  
  • Scissor.                             
  • Tape/glue/glue gun


The CKids Virtual Online Hebrew School is running 3 amazing competitions, but there are only a few days left to send in your submissions. The deadline for all submissions to be sent in is Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 pm.

The website includes grade appropriate davening videos, aleph champ worksheets, previous educational videos, and other resources that you could use, not only on Sunday, but during the week. 

Your child is joined by tens of thousands of children from around the world participating in this Virtual Online Hebrew School. We hope that through the power of prayer and Torah learning of children, we will annul the decree and be able to go back to learning regularly in our Hebrew School.
