  • Sukkot Services are open to everyone with physical distancing and masks in place as before.

    (Please refer to the bulletin and Service Times page for all service times).

    To help us prepare, we once again require each attendee to register for services and submit the waiver by clicking on the link below.

    We ask all those attending our services to please adhere to the following rules.

    1. Seats will be marked off so that the correct social distancing space is kept between congregants. No chairs are to be moved.

    2. As of July 17, 2020, it is mandatory to wear a mask while in the building.

    3. Upon entering the building there will be sanitizer to wash ones hands.

    4. Every congregant should take one Siddur and Chumash and place it in a bag with their name on it and leave it on your seat when leaving. This will be the only books that only you will use for the next few months.

    5. There will be no kissing of the Torah.

    6. When one is called up to the Torah they are to make a blessing in front of the Torah without touching it, return to their seat and stand for the duration of the Aliyah and then return to the Torah for the final blessing.

    7. Services will be as short as possible, approximately 1 hour, without speeches or misheberachs at this time.

    8. Children will be allowed only if they sit with their parents for the duration of the service.

    9. All rooms besides for the Shul will remain locked.  

    10. Restrooms are now open and are cleaned and sanitized between uses.

    11. Anyone sneezing coughing or showing any symptoms of sickness should stay home.

    12. Seniors or people with compromised health conditions should refer to a doctor before coming.

    13. Doors will be left open to avoid touching doorknobs and for better circulation of air. Do not close them.

    14. Security of building will be reinstated.

    All congregants planning on attending, must register and submit the waiver using the form below!

    Please register yourself and any family members who will be attending. 


    Chabad Lubavitch of Markham Member(s) and/or Guest(s) [named above] agree/s that their participation in services/events at Chabad Lubavitch of Markham is entirely voluntary.  Furthermore, the Member(s) and/or Guest(s) agree/s to assume any and all risks associated with being infected with Covid-19 while participating in services and/or being on the Chabad Lubavitch of Markham property.  The Member(s) and/or Guest(s) hereby release/s Chabad Lubavitch of Markham, Rabbis & Rebbetzins, employees, Board Members, any other staff and volunteers from any and all claims of loss or damage that may arise while attending our facility associated with Covid-19 only.

    Personal Well Being

    The Member(s) and/or Guest(s) hereby warrant/s that they are healthy, are not suffering from and/or presenting with any Covid-19 symptoms, and that no members of their household are suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 nor are they under quarantine at this time. Member(s) and/or Guest(s) hereby agrees, if so requested, to answer all required questions, truthfully. 

    Right to Deny Entry

    Chabad Lubavitch of Markham maintains the right to deny any Member(s) and/or Guest(s) the right to enter the facility if he/she is presenting with any symptoms of Covid-19.

    Applicable Law

    This waiver agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.


    The Member(s) and/or Guest(s) agrees that this waiver agreement shall remain in full force and effect, and that entry onto the Chabad Lubavitch of Markham Property is conditional upon agreeing to the terms of this agreement.

    By acknowledging this waiver, Member(s) and/or Guests agree and understand that they are waiving certain of their legal rights.

    Before signing the said agreement or in the case of online registration, the Member(s) and/or Guest(s), hereby acknowledges he/she has had the opportunity to seek Independent Legal Advice before signing the Waiver herein.
