Yizkor Memorial Book

  • It is a Jewish tradition to honour the memory of our loved ones in our thoughts and prayers, as well as through acts of charity.  The memorial service called "Yizkor" - to remember - is part of the prayer services four times during the year (Pesach, Shavuot, Yom Kippur & Sukkot).  The virtue of pledging charity during Yizkor creates an opportunity for the souls of our loved ones to be connected with us through tangible acts of goodness and kindness.  One way to honour this tradition is through the publishing of a Yizkor Memorial Book .

As a result of such high demand and a successful first run, Chabad of Markham is endeavoring to publish the second edition of our beautiful Yizkor Book of Life.  This booklet will give us the opportunity to memorialize and lovingly remember those who shaped our lives.  It will include prayers and meditations of the Yizkor Service, and will be printed and distributed for use this coming Pesach and subsequent Yizkor Services throughout the year.

This gives the opportunity for people to add new dedications or edit/update previous submissions.
